Colombo - a place to call home

Our main church in Colombo is in need of a permanent facility for its long-term operations and residential needs.

For many years this church has been relocating periodically to facilitate growth. Being in the captial of Sri Lanka, property prices are high and prompt action is required to secure the right property. The centre needs to house residential staff and have adequate requirements for children. It will provide various accomodation facilities and make provision for the needs of a growing church congregation.

We are currently searching for a suitable property.

Children's Homes

In Valachenai, in the far north, we have established a home that is caring for 40 boys and girls. In the same region we have acquired 1.5 acres of land and are constructing a home for boys.

In Vavuniya, to the north west, we have another boys' home being constructed on two acres of land.

Ministry Training School

To assist in the growth and discipleship of local churches, we have 10 students in training (meeting in rented facilities). There were 11 students that graduated in 2006.

Leadership

With training as a real focus of our international strategy, we have developed 12 leadership training schools. These schools operate at various locations, with 700 pastors and leaders being mentored.

Tsunami Disaster Relief

As a result of the tsunami disaster appeal, an amount of $450,000 was raised from the CRC Churches International. With this outstanding love offering we have been able to supply 160 fishing canoes and 16 small homes for families. We were also able to provide emergency aid packs that were distributed throughout the region.

Future Development

We have acquired (and now fully own) a 16 acre property that will become the site for a permanent ministry training centre.

The centre, when constructured, will provide vocational training and accomodation facilities for up to 100 students. In the short to medium term various agricultural projects will be commenced within the property.
